Chardonnay, The Squire
Briar Ridge is a winemaking paradise in Mount View, Australia with a unique microclimate and terroir, 600 feet above the surrounding plains. The vines here were established in 1972, with a selection of pinot noir and sauvignon blanc being planted, alongside small amounts of chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon and some Portuguese port varieties. Within three years, wines produced from these vines were winning gold medals. Winemaking at Briar Ridge is rooted in tradition, though the team experiment with new varieties of grape, modern technologies and minimal intervention.
This Chardonnay is rich and opulent with notes of peach and melon and a nectarine like acidity. It has a subtle influence of oak, which adds structure and some spice notes.
750ml. 12.5% ABV.
