Ramón Peña cannery was founded over 100 years ago in Galicia, Northwest Spain, and even has an onsite lab to ensure the cans are always at their very best.
Since 1920, generations of professional fishermen have been fishing the rich Galician estuaries and Cantabrian sea. Skilled labour, full control of the raw materials and artisanal process has always meant that Ramón Peña produce the highest quality tins of seafood.
The best sardines are chosen at the market each morning, are lovingly prepared by hand and then canned the same day. No preservatives, additives, colourings, whitenings or any nasties are ever added to their products.
Ramón Peña use selective fishing methods to guarantee the future of marine biodiversity, protect the sea bed and other unwanted fish. They continuously score extremely highly in all sustainability certifications.
They also have a biological purification system which doesn’t use any chemical products and have specific agents to responsibly collect waste.
