Picante Gordal Olives, Mevalco

Mevalco is a Spanish ingredient import company founded by David Menendez around 20 years ago, which currently imports 750 products from 120 suppliers. David was based in Asturias, in Northern Spain at the time, and worked as a veterinary surgeon. His deep care for animals grew into an appreciation for artisanal food producers, so when he moved to the UK, he wanted to showcase Spain’s incredible, traditional, sustainable and ethical produce to the market here.
David’s team in Madrid constantly seek out the very best of Spanish produce and work with small scale farmers, fishermen and artisans. Every product needs to meet high standards of production, sustainability, and tell a story of their origin.

Gordal olives are grown in Andalusia, Spain, where 30,000 hectares have been dedicated to their cultivation. They are famed for their large size, firm bite and refreshing flavour.
