About the Producer

Peter’s Yard Crispbreads were born from a partnership between Peter Ljungquist, a passionate Swede dedicated to embracing natural talent, and his friend Jan Hedh, a Swedish master baker, who together run a small bakery deep in the Swedish countryside, and English couple, Ian and Wendy, who were so amazed by the sourdough crispbreads made there, that they sought to join forces and create a brand now recognised across the UK and Europe.
The focus for the original crispbreads was on reviving traditional baking methods, recipes and sourdough techniques and these remain central to the business today. Only natural, high quality ingredients are used, including organic flour, organic fresh milk and their precious sourdough starter which is allowed to ferment for 16 hours before each batch of crispbreads is made.

Sustainability

Peter’s yard are committed to using ethical, sustainable suppliers, including Shipton Mill (flour), Hillfarm British (rapeseed oil), Halen Môn (sea salt) and British dairy. By using these British ingredients, food miles are reduced. Any waste at the bakery itself is used for animal feed.

The entire company is palm oil free, bubble wrap free (saving 3500m² per year) and only uses FSC certified cardboard. The plastic film used to seal each pack of crackers is recyclable in large supermarkets.
