La Tur

La Tur is a soft, enriched, Italian, mixed milk cheese which has a wonderfully fluffy, mousse like texture, with beautiful richness and a delicate bloom rind. It is made with a mix of cow's, ewe's and goat's milk and has a piquant goaty flavour towards the rind and more mild, citrus centre.

The History, Dairy & Farm, Animals & Maker

Caseificio dell'Alta Langa have been making cheese since 1881 in a dairy immersed in nature, in Bosia, a small village in the Alta Langa, Italy. The cheeses created are all small production and handmade, with the dairy ensuring never to over milk their well cared for animals.
The dairy specialise in mixed milk cheeses which mean their range can be made year round in a remote area with scarce resources.

Sustainability

The animals are outdoor reared, fed a homegrown diet, and the cheese is made in the same village as the animals grazing area, so there are no food miles involved in production.
