This farmhouse Saint Nectaire hails from the Auvergne region of France and has been made from the milk of Salers cows for centuries. The cows feed on rich, perfumed, volcanic pastures and this contributes to the quality and flavour of the milk and then final cheese itself.
Saint Nectaire is a rind washed cheese with an earthy, nutty, mushroom flavour. It is semi soft and creamy in texture with a greyish purple edible rind and fruity aroma.
This cheese is aged for two to three months and is made with raw cows’ milk and traditional rennet.
