Peter’s Yard Medium Crispbread with Hole
Peter’s Yard Crispbreads were born from a partnership between Peter Ljungquist, a passionate Swede dedicated to embracing natural talent, and his friend Jan Hedh, a Swedish master baker, who together run a small bakery deep in the Swedish countryside, and English couple, Ian and Wendy, who were so amazed by the sourdough crisp breads made there, that they sought to join forces and create a brand now recognised across the UK and Europe.
The focus for the original crispbreads was on reviving traditional baking methods, recipes and sourdough techniques and these remain central to the business today. Only natural, high quality ingredients are used, including organic flour, organic fresh milk and their precious sourdough starter which is allowed to ferment for 16 hours before each batch of crispbreads is made.
Each crispbread was originally made with a hole in the centre so that it could be hung on a pole above the fire. The hole remains today, reminiscent of Swedish tradition. The box contains 12 x 13.5cm crispbreads. Total 220g.
Milk, rye and wheat flours, sourdough (rye flour, water), wholewheat flour, honey, sea salt
