Perigord Walnuts
The Dordogne Valley is the biggest regional producer of walnuts in France and is an integral part of the region’s cultural history. Walnuts were originally brought to the region by the Romans but their medicinal and nutritional values have been revered since at least the 10th Century. They are rich in fibre, Omega 3 and Omega 6, vitamins, magnesium, iron, phosphorus and manganese.
These walnuts are creamy and delicious and make for a fantastic snack. They are considerably less dry on the palate than other walnuts and don’t have any bitterness.
