Domaine de Gayda, En Passant

‘En Passant’ is inspired by ‘The Passenger’ - the classic pop-rock anthem by Iggy Pop. It’s restless character is expressed through this wine, which is made from a different vineyard, terroir and grape variety each year. This transitory concept is also echoed in the label, with a wanderer moving through changing scenery - this is a storyboard of the wines’ different vintages.

The 2020 vintage is made from 60% Muscat (grown at altitude in the Roussillon on clay-limestone) and 40% Roussanne (from high in the Minervois, grown on schist soil).

This is a light and clean wine, with fresh apricot and peach flavours and a floral, honeyed nose (orange blossom, honeysuckle). It has a very slight citrus and apple bite which is balanced with hints of butter pastry. A good ‘length’ on the wine allows the minerality to express itself.
