Comté is France’s highest production AOC cheese, around 64000 tonnes are made annually. It is made in the Franche-Comté region of Eastern France from the raw milk of Montbéliarde cows, who graze freely on fresh pasture. The terroir is hugely important in the final quality and flavour of the cheese and it is made under strict regulations to ensure an impeccable standard.
Comté Extra is a complex cheese that has a wonderfully nutty and sweet taste with a firm and fruity bite.
This cheese is aged for 2 years and is made with raw cows’ milk and traditional rennet.
