Local Produce

Although the climate of East Anglia is generally too dry to produce the lush grassland which is so essential for good cheeses, we are lucky enough to be in one of the most bountiful regions of Britain for a wide range of produce. We are always on the look out for locally sourced products, but it’s not enough just to be local: it has to be well made and tasty too! Here’s a selection of locally made items that we are proud to offer.

Cambridge Chilli Farm
We’re delighted to stock this range of hot and spicy sauces and relishes from the Cambridge Chilli Farm. These sauces and relishes are made using home grown chillies to suit all tastes: from the fragrantly firey to the downright dangerous. Local and flavourful!

Cambridge Cheese Company Chutneys and Jams
Made by Jacky, our in-house chutney expert, who uses locally grown apples and hand-picked seasonal wild fruit. Each jar is bursting with fruit and made using the lowest quantity of sugar possible without compromising the keeping quality or flavour.

Seasonality Chutneys Jams and Relishes
Another Cambridge based business started with a passion for foraging and a desire to make delicious jams and relishes. Try the super silky Bramble Jelly or tangy Seville Orange Marmalade – all hand made from start to finish.

Hand Raised Pork Pies Our pork pies are the stuff of legend amongst the students of Cambridge! They are made locally to our own recipes with extra deep fillings using leaner meat cuts and twice glazed water crust pastry: a really satisfying bite.  Standard 225g size; other shapes and sizes can be made to order.

Cambridgeshire Honey
Many of our customers swear by our local honeys as the best way of keeping their hay fever at bay. Even if you don’t suffer from it, but just have a sweet tooth, you can enjoy the unique taste of each jar thanks to the different plant communities visited by the bees in different locations throughout the season. We are proud to support the local Wildlife Trust with £1 donation from every jar sold.

Watergull Orchards
Our region is one of the best for fruit orchards, and Watergull specialise in unfiltered pressings of over 20 single apple varieties, all grown and selected in Cambridgeshire and free from additives and sweeteners.

Fresh Bread
All our bread is selected fresh every morning from ‘The Earth’s Crust’ on Cambridge market. Favourites include: Pain a L’Ancienne sourdough, Colombier Rye with Linseed and multi-grain bloomers!

Seasonal Mushrooms

Many of the staff at the Cambridge Cheese Company, are expert mushroom hunters and most of our dried mushrooms, including Porcini (Ceps), Chanterelles (Girolles) and Morel are hand picked by US! During the Spring look out for fresh Morels and St. George’s mushrooms while Ceps, Chanterelles, Blewits, Parasols, Field and Horse Mushrooms, and Giant puffballs put in their appearances during the Autumn.

Local Ales
We stock the full range of delicious ‘City of Cambridge’ bottled ales, as well as our favourite Norfolk beers from ‘Wolf Brewery’. 8 pint party barrels are available!
